How do you apply Ames Elastomeric coatings?
Ames products are very easy to apply; almost all their products can simply be brushed or rolled on using standard latex paint brushes. In fact many Ames waterproof coatings can also be sprayed on! All Ames products are non-toxic and can be cleaned up with water.
Why are Ames products any different from other paints or sealers?
Ames waterproof elastomeric coatings are far superior to traditional waterproof paints and sealers. The elastomeric coatings are extremely strong and some can be stretched up to 800%, water cannot penetrate them so they are truly a waterproof barrier that will not support mould or mildew. Elastomeric coating will not crack or peel, they are made to last. Ames Research Laboratories has developed the next generation of waterproof coatings.
How long do Ames Elastomeric coating last?
The longevity of the waterproof coating can depend on how it is being used and the application of the product. For example, a roof coating exposed to the sun and elements, one coat may last 3 to 5 years, two coats 5 to 7 years, and three coats 7 to 10+ years.

Are Ames products toxic? Are they safe for cisterns or fish ponds?
Yes, Ames waterproof elastomeric coatings are safe for cisterns and fish ponds. All Ames products are non-toxic and water-based, and perform very well as a cistern coating. Even during application their coatings are low odor and contain less that 1% VOC’s.
